Do I need to cancel my subscription before deleting the account?

No. The subscription is cancelled as part of the deletion and no further charge is made. The dialog also names the connected pages that will be disconnected.

What happens right after I confirm Delete forever?

You are signed out and a farewell email confirms it. The subscription is cancelled, the pages are disconnected and the data is removed; support cannot restore it.
