A comment you hide by hand is visible only to you and its author. Comments hidden by Hidden Words are not shown and the sender is not told. Hidden comments still count in the post's comment total.
Hide unwanted comments is on by default and hides comments with common offensive words, phrases or emojis. Hidden Words hides your own list. Teen accounts have both on.
At the bottom of a post's comments, View hidden comments, then Unhide under the one you want back. In CommentWatchDog, filter the inbox to Hidden and use the eye icon.
Yes. Hidden Words set on the account extends to its ads, and Ads Manager hides one comment at a time. CommentWatchDog runs the same rules on ad comments as on posts.
Hide removes one comment from view. Restrict makes one person's future comments visible only to them. Limit pauses comments from non-followers for a while. Delete removes it for good. CommentWatchDog hides or deletes by rule and per comment, and mutes a person from the inbox so their next comments arrive hidden. Blocking on Instagram stays in the Instagram app.
Instagram publishes nothing that says so, and hidden comments still count in the total. We do not claim an effect either way.
