In Ads Manager you can read, hide or delete comments on one ad at a time. The Page's profanity filter and blocked words reach your ads too. Some accounts now see a switch to turn comments off; most do not, and turning them off also removes the questions and the social proof you paid for. Meta polices the ads. The comments under yours are your job.

Meta publishes what it removes from the ad system itself. Nothing in those reports touches the comments under a legitimate ad; that space is the advertiser's. Here is what lands there, from one ad's first hour.

For most advertisers, no. Meta's help page says anyone who can see your ad can comment on it. Some accounts see a comment control in Ads Manager for certain objectives and formats. If you do not have it, hiding and moderating is the way, and it keeps the questions and the social proof that turning comments off would remove.

In Ads Manager, open the Ads tab, click Edit under the ad, choose More options, then Manage Facebook comments. Notifications on Facebook show them too. CommentWatchDog shows every ad's comments in one inbox with an ad marker on each row, and its Ads tab lists each ad with the comments under it.

Hide most of them. A hidden comment stays visible to the person who wrote it and their friends and disappears for everyone else, so it rarely starts a fight. Delete spam, scams and abuse. Answer a real complaint.

Meta does not document an effect either way, so we do not claim one. A hidden comment is still there for its author, and the ad keeps running.
