Conditions: send each person down the right way
Free for 7 days, no credit card required
One flow, different people. A Condition reads up to 8 rules, from their Instagram profile, what you know about them, what they did and the time, and sends each person the Yes way or the No way.
- Meta's official API, no password, nothing installed
- Unlimited contacts on every plan
- AI replies in your customer's language
- From $29 a month
Up to 23 checks, grouped as you think
Pick up to 8 in one condition. Each one can be turned around, and the editor offers it only where the start and the platform can answer it. Here they sit in four groups; the editor’s picker has six.

Compare an answer by its type
A question saves what they said; a condition reads it back. Numbers compare as numbers and dates as dates, so “about 40” and “12 Oct” mean what they say.
- Saved answers and fields
- Answers from questions in this flow, ones saved before, your custom fields and built-in variables.
- HTTP answers
- A value an HTTP request brought back in the same run, like an order’s status.
- Options that change
- A rule on a choice keeps following an option you renamed; a removed option is warned about on the canvas.

Every setting, in the editor’s words
The labels you will see in the app, what each one does, and the rule behind it.
How it decides
One block of rules, two ways out.
- Needs every ruleEvery rule, or any one
With Needs every rule a person goes the Yes way only when all of the rules match; with Needs any one rule, one is enough. Everyone else goes the No way.
Every rule stops at the first that fails, any one rule at the first that holds.
- Doesn’t follow youTurn any rule around
Each rule has its opposite: Follows you or Doesn’t follow you, Has an email or No email yet, Tagged or Not tagged, Between or Outside your hours.
- YesTwo ways out, Yes and No
Yes (they match) and No (everyone else) each lead to their own next step, so one flow answers followers and strangers, customers and first-timers differently.
Up to 8 rules in one condition, and as many conditions as the flow needs.
- Unknown is never a match
When Instagram does not answer a profile question, the rule does not match, either way round: not knowing is not the same as “doesn’t follow you”.
Instagram answers only after the person has written to you, tapped an ice breaker or a menu.
Where each check works
The editor offers only what the start and the platform can answer.
- Their Instagram profileProfile checks, on Instagram
Follows you, You follow them, Verified profile, Follower count, Profile picture and Auto-generated username read Instagram’s profile answer. On Facebook they never match: Messenger shares only the name.
In a comment flow, put them after the private reply’s tap: a commenter alone gets no answer from Instagram.
- The comment or messageComment checks, in comment flows
Commented on an ad, On a specific post or ad, A reply to a comment and Flagged by moderation read the comment, so they work in flows that start from one.
- What they wroteWords and language, on most starts
What they wrote and Language read the comment or message that started the flow: every start except a link and a shared post.
- Refused at save, not found out later
A rule placed where the start has nothing for it to read is marked on the canvas and refused when you save, so no flow goes live with a check that can never match.
The canvas says: This start has nothing for this rule to read.
Picking and reading
- The same rules in People
Segments in People are built from the same kinds of rules, so “followers with an email, tagged vip” is one list. For a random pick instead of a rule, use an A/B split.
- Most usedThe usual checks first
A fresh condition opens on the most used checks for its start, like follows you, email, tag and clicked a link. Browse all checks opens the rest, with a search.
- HistorySee why each person went their way
A run’s history shows what every rule read beside its verdict: Matched, Didn’t match, or Not checked when the answer was already decided. See test runs and history.
The condition, as you set it
The Roast menu flow’s condition: Tagged “regular”, Known for 30+ days or Answered “roast”, with Needs any one rule. Add a rule opens the checks: Most used, then the six groups.
- Needs every rule, or any one rule
- All must match, or one is enough.
- Add a rule
- Search the checks, or browse them by group.
- Next steps
- Yes when they match, No for everyone else.

Questions about conditions
What people ask before they branch a flow.
Twenty-three checks; the editor groups them in six, plus Most used. In short: their Instagram profile (follows you, you follow them, verified, follower count, profile picture, an auto-generated username), who they are to you (been in touch before, days since first seen, earlier comments, email, phone number, words in their name, a tag, any answer they gave), what they did (clicked a link, what they wrote, an ad, a specific post, a reply to a comment, a moderation flag, the language) and when (time of day, the chat window).
Yes. Follows you reads Instagram’s own answer, the same check behind follow to unlock. Instagram gives it only after the person has written to you or tapped, so in a comment flow the check goes after the private reply’s tap. If Instagram does not answer, the rule does not match either way round, so an unknown is never treated as not following.
Yes, up to 8 rules. Choose Needs every rule when all must match, or Needs any one rule when one is enough, and turn any rule around (Has an email or No email yet). Everyone who does not match goes the No way.
Yes, all of them except the six Instagram profile checks (follows you, you follow them, verified, follower count, profile picture, auto-generated username): Messenger shares only the person’s name. Email, phone, tags, answers, time of day and the rest work on both.
Yes, with An answer they gave. It reads a saved answer, a custom field, a built-in variable or an HTTP answer from the same run, compared by its type: text by contains, starts with or a pattern; numbers by at least, at most or between; dates by before, after or the next N days; choices by is one of. See Set field for writing values the condition reads.
Yes. Time of day reads the page’s time zone: Between 09:00 and 18:00 goes Yes in your hours, Outside 09:00 to 18:00 the other way round. A window past midnight, like 22:00 to 06:00, wraps.
Open the flow’s history. Each run shows what every rule read and its verdict: Matched, Didn’t match, or Not checked when the answer was already decided.
No. Meta does not share a person’s location, age or gender with the apps that answer their messages, so no tool built on its official API can check them. A question in the flow can ask, and a condition can then read the answer.
