Replies, mentions, or both
One start for every way people answer your stories.
Which story events
Replies to your stories and mentions in theirs; one start, three choices.
- A reply to your story, or a mention in theirsBoth
Anyone who answers your story or tags you in their own starts the flow.
- A reply to your storyReplies only
Someone answers one of your stories from the reply bar.
Meta’s story-reply event does not carry GIF or sticker replies.
- A mention in their storyMentions only
Someone tags you in their story: thank them, send a code, ask for a repost.
Meta sends an event for story mentions only, not for tags on regular posts.
Which stories, which words
Narrow replies to the stories that matter.
- Stories I chooseUp to 50 chosen stories
Only replies to them start the flow. A Highlight keeps its story, so replies to it still count after the 24 hours.
Mentions happen in their own stories, so a chosen story never filters a mention.
- Which repliesAny reply, or keywords
Filter replies by keywords or exact words, with the same matching as comments and DMs.
- How often per personEvery time, once ever, once a day, once a week
Thank a fan once, or every time they share you.
From a story to a list
Thank them, send the code, and know who wanted Friday’s roast.
Their reply opens the chat, so a message with buttons, an image or video or a question can come first, and a tag marks them as fans for later. A condition on what they said sends a reservation one way and a compliment another. Like shared posts, it is one of the starts only Instagram has; the rest of Instagram DM automation is on its own page.
The story start, in the app
Pick the events and, if you like, the stories.
