As of October 7, 2026, ManyChat prices its plans by Active Contacts: Essential $17 a month for 250 contacts then $0.10 each, Pro $39 for 2,500 then $0.05, Business $99 for 7,500 then $0.025, Advanced $199 for 25,000 with custom overage, billed monthly. CommentWatchDog charges a flat price from $29 with unlimited contacts.

ManyChat counts the people your automations reach in the billing month, not your followers. What makes a month bigger:
A reel that takes off
Everyone who comments and gets the DM is an Active Contact for the month, so a good post is a bigger bill.
Stories and giveaways
Each person who replies to a story or enters a giveaway through an automation counts too.
Every new conversation
A person counts once a month however often they write; next month, everyone who writes counts again.
A flat price, contacts unmetered

As of October 7, 2026, billed monthly: Free $0 (25 Active Contacts), Essential $17 (250, then $0.10 each), Pro $39 (2,500, then $0.05), Business $99 (7,500, then $0.025) and Advanced $199 (25,000, then custom overage pricing). Billed yearly, the same plans are $14, $29, $69 and $139 a month. The full table, with each plan’s source, is above.
ManyChat has a Free plan: 25 Active Contacts a month, 4 live automations, 1 user and 1 Inbox seat, and a “Powered by Manychat” message the first time it messages each contact, which only a paid plan removes.
In ManyChat’s words, a contact is a person who has interacted with your account through an automation (a DM, a comment, a story reply), and an Active Contact is one who has interacted with you through Manychat during your current billing month. A person counts once a month however often they write, and the count resets each billing cycle. Going over your plan’s number adds overage to the next bill. ManyChat’s Active Contacts article.
Worked out from its published rates: $161.50 a month billed monthly, on Business ($99 for 7,500 Active Contacts plus 2,500 extra at $0.025), the cheapest ManyChat plan at that count. Billed yearly it is $114 a month ($69 plus 2,500 extra at $0.018), paid for the year.
CommentWatchDog runs the same comment to DM, keyword, story and welcome automations and a visual flow builder on Instagram and Messenger for $29 a month at any number of contacts, so 10,000 contacts are still $29. The ManyChat alternative page has the side by side.
Yes. Essential includes 1 Inbox seat, Pro 2 (up to 3), Business 3 (up to 5) and Advanced 5 (up to 10); on Pro, Business and Advanced each additional seat is $25. CommentWatchDog has no price per seat: Starter includes 3 teammates, Growth 5, Pro 15 and Elite unlimited.
Two things, never contacts or DMs: the comments moderation reads (1,000 a month on Starter) and AI credits for what the AI writes (1,000 a month on Starter; a DM answer uses 5). When AI credits run out, AI steps hand the chat to a person and nothing else stops.
