Common questions

Can I do everything with messages on my phone that I can on a computer?

Yes. The list and the thread are two screens instead of two columns, and More beside the composer holds the same actions as the desktop composer: photo, GIF, voice message and translate.

How do I archive a message conversation on my phone?

Swipe the conversation. The action runs with an Undo, exactly as in the comment inbox; press and hold for the rest of the actions.

Do the gesture tips show every time I open Messages on my phone?

No. They are shown once, the first time you open Messages on a phone.

How do I get back to the conversation list from a thread on my phone?

Tap All conversations. The Messages tab in the bottom bar shows the list, and tapping a conversation opens the thread on top of it.
