Common questions

Which plans include translation?

Starter and every plan above it, for comments, messages and your drafts. On Mini and Lite, Translate opens a short explanation instead. Mini and Lite are offered in selected countries.

Does translating a message replace the customer's original text?

No. The original is never replaced; the translation sits with it, along with a note saying which language it came from.

Do I have to pick the customer's language every time I translate?

No. Once the customer language is known it is remembered for that conversation. You can pick a specific language yourself when the guess is wrong.

Can I type my reply in my language and send it in the customer's?

Yes. Translate into the customer language, in the composer, rewrites what you typed, and you can read the result before you send. Translate into another language is there when the guess is wrong.

Do translations in Messages work the same way as on comments?

Yes. Messages translate the same way comments do, in both directions, with the extra that the conversation remembers the customer language.

2. The customer language is remembered for that conversation once it is known.

3. You can always pick a specific language when the guess is wrong.

Fix: There is not enough text to judge. Pick the language yourself in the composer.

Problem: Translation failed

Fix: Try again in a moment. Nothing is lost; the original is always the message itself.

Problem: It translated into the wrong language

Fix: The conversation remembers a language it detected earlier. Pick the right one and it is remembered instead.
