Generate a reply in the composer
Any comment gets a draft in your voice the moment you want one, without the agent sending anything.
On this page
Before you start
- It needs an agent on that page, in any mode.
- It writes into the box and never sends.
- It says whether it used your knowledge.

If something is off
- Generate is missing
- No agent covers that page yet.
- It says your knowledge has no answer
- Answer by hand, then add the fact to the knowledge.
- The draft is wrong
- Edit and send, then fix the persona or the knowledge.
Common questions
Can a moderator use Generate, or only owners and managers?
Anyone on your team can press Generate in the composer. Creating and editing the agent itself needs an owner, administrator or manager.
Does pressing Generate send the reply by itself?
No. Generate writes a draft into the box and stops there; nothing is sent until you press Reply. It works with an agent in any mode, including Off.
Can I steer one generated reply without changing the agent's settings?
Yes. Add instructions, under the composer, applies to this reply only and takes priority over the knowledge and the post, for example mention the sale or decline politely. The agent itself is unchanged.
Can a generated reply go out as a private message instead of a public comment?
Yes. The draft is yours to edit, and you can send it publicly or as a private message. Either way it goes out from you and the row is marked Replied.

Context: Generate is the manual door to the agent. It reads the comment, the post and everything you taught the agent, writes a draft into the composer, and stops there.

Step 1 of 3: Open a comment and press Generate.
Where: The reply icon, then Generate in the composer.

Problem: Generate is missing
Fix: No agent covers that page. Create one, or add the page to an existing agent.
Problem: It says your knowledge has no answer
Fix: The question needs a fact the agent does not hold. Answer by hand, then add that answer to the knowledge or as an FAQ pair.
Problem: The draft is wrong
Fix: Edit it and send; nothing is sent without you. Then fix the persona or the knowledge so the next one is right.
