Result when done: Any comment gets a draft in your voice the moment you want one, without the agent sending anything.

Context: Generate is the manual door to your agents. It reads the comment, the post and what the agent knows, writes a draft into the composer, and stops there. It writes as the agent whose automation covers that comment, or as your Default agent when none does.

Before you start

1. Generate needs at least one agent on the account. It does not need an automation.

2. It writes into the box and never sends.

3. Each generated draft uses 5 AI credits; a question the agent has no facts for uses none.

Steps

Step 1 of 3: Open a comment and press Generate.

Where: The reply icon on the comment, then Generate in the composer.

You should see: A draft in the box, with a line saying whether custom knowledge was used.

Step 2 of 3: Steer this one reply.

Where: Instructions, beside Generate; on a phone, Add instructions. It applies only to this reply and takes priority over the custom knowledge and the post, for example mention the 30% off sale, or politely decline the refund.

You should see: The next draft follows your instruction, and the agent itself is unchanged.

Step 3 of 3: Edit and send.

Where: The draft is yours to change. Reply posts it under the comment; Send as private message, Private on a phone, sends it as a DM instead.

You should see: The reply goes out from you, and the row is marked Replied.

If something is off

Problem: It says your custom knowledge has no answer

Fix: The question needs a fact the agent does not hold. Reply by hand, then add the answer to the agent's knowledge, most simply as a question and answer.

Problem: It wrote in the wrong agent's voice

Fix: Pick another agent under Writing as, beside Generate, for this reply. To change it for good, make that agent the Default in Settings, AI agents.

Problem: It says you are out of AI credits

Fix: Nothing was written. Reply yourself, or follow the link to your AI credits to see the meter and top up.

Problem: The draft is wrong

Fix: Edit it and send; nothing is sent without you. Then fix the knowledge or the rules on the agent so the next one is right.

Common questions

Question: Can a moderator use Generate, or only owners and managers?

Answer: Anyone on your team can press Generate in the composer. Creating and editing the agent itself needs an owner, administrator or manager.

Question: Does pressing Generate send the reply by itself?

Answer: No. Generate writes a draft into the box and stops there; nothing is sent until you press Reply.

Question: Which agent writes when I press Generate?

Answer: The agent whose automation covers that comment; when none does, your Default agent. Writing as, beside Generate, picks another one for a single reply.

Question: What does a generated draft cost?

Answer: 5 AI credits, the same as an automatic answer. When the agent has no fact for the question it says so and nothing is charged.

Question: Can a generated reply go out as a private message instead of a public comment?

Answer: Yes. The draft is yours to edit, and Send as private message sends it as a DM. Either way it goes out from you and the row is marked Replied.
