Common questions

How many AI agents does each plan include?

Starter runs 1 agent, Growth 3, Pro 10 and Elite as many as you like; Mini and Lite have none. At the limit, Create agent opens a short explanation with the plan that has more.

Does creating an AI agent mean it starts replying to comments on its own?

No. A new agent is Off: it labels the comments that need a reply and powers the Generate button, and sends nothing to anyone until you choose a mode that sends.

Do customers see the name I give my AI agent?

No. The name is for you and your team, not for customers, so call it what it does, for example Northwind support or Ads replies.

Where are AI agents in the CommentWatchDog phone app?

Open the menu, then the profile row, Settings, then AI agents. On a computer it is Settings, then the AI agents tab.

Does an AI agent cost extra or use up my comment credits?

No extra cost on the plans that include agents: Starter runs 1 agent, Growth 3, Pro 10 and Elite as many as you like. Replies never count towards your comment allowance; credits are spent on incoming comments, one per comment.

Guide: Create an agent

This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/ai-agents/create-an-agent

Topic: AI agents

Time: about 3 minutes

Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager

Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)

Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/agents

Result when done: One page has an agent that can read its comments and answer the real questions.

Context: An agent is the part of CommentWatchDog that writes. It reads a comment, decides whether it deserves an answer, and writes one in your voice using what you have taught it. You decide whether it drafts or sends. AI agents are included from Starter.

Before you start

1. One agent covers one page; a page cannot have two.

2. A new agent starts in the safest mode, where it only labels and powers Generate.

3. Nothing is sent to anyone until you choose a mode that sends.

Steps

Step 1 of 4: Open AI agents.

Where: Settings, then the AI agents tab. On a phone: the menu, the profile row, Settings, then AI agents.

Link: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/agents (Open AI agents)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agents-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)

You should see: Your agents, each with the page it covers and the mode it is in.

Step 2 of 4: Press Create agent and name it.

Where: The button at the top. The name is for you and your team, not for customers, so call it what it does: Northwind support, or Ads replies.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-detail.en.webp (The agent editor: Name first.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)

You should see: The editor, with the fields that decide how it sounds and what it may do.

Step 3 of 4: Choose the page it covers.

Where: Pages this agent covers. A page already taken by another agent says so, so two agents never answer the same comment.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-detail.en.webp (Pages this agent covers.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)

You should see: The page is bound to this agent, and Generate becomes available in its inbox.

Step 4 of 4: Save it and leave it in the safe mode.

Where: Save. A new agent is Off, which means it labels comments that need a reply and powers the Generate button, and sends nothing.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-mode.en.webp (Agent mode: leave it on drafts to start.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/agent-mode-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)

You should see: The agent is live in the sense that it reads and labels, and silent in the sense that it never writes to anyone.

If something is off

Problem: Create agent is not available

Fix: You are a moderator. Ask an owner, administrator or manager.

Problem: The page I want says it is used by another agent

Fix: A page can have one agent. Edit the existing one, or move the page to this one.

Problem: Generate is still missing in the inbox

Fix: Generate appears on the pages this agent covers. Check the page is listed, and reload the inbox.

Problem: No agents yet, and I do not want AI replies

Fix: An agent is still worth having in Off mode: it labels what needs a reply and lets you generate a draft when you want one.
