Common questions
Can a flow treat complaints differently from questions?
Yes. A condition on Flagged by moderation (Negative) sends complaints one way, for example to Hide the comment and a private reply, and everything else another.
Can it tell an ad comment from a post comment?
Yes, in a comment flow: Commented on an ad, or its opposite, Commented on a post, not an ad.

Guide: Check what they wrote
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/flow-conditions/check-what-they-wrote
Topic: Conditions
Time: about 3 minutes
Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox
Result when done: Branch on the words, the language, or the moderation label of the comment or message.
Context: These checks read the comment or message that started the flow: the words in it, the language it is written in, and the label your comment moderation gave it. Comment flows also get three more: whether it was left on an ad, on one of the posts you pick, and whether it is a reply to another comment.
Before you start
1. What they wrote and Language work on every start except link and shared post.
2. Flagged by moderation, Commented on an ad, On a specific post or ad and A reply to a comment need a comment start.
3. Words are read the same way as trigger keywords.
Steps
Step 1 of 4: Open the checks under The comment or message.
Where: Add a Condition (Steps, Decide) or click one on the canvas. In its panel press Add a rule (on a fresh condition, Browse all checks). The picker opens on Most used, with the groups listed beside it: press Comment or message, and its checks show under the heading The comment or message. Search checks finds one by name.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-pick-said-phone.en.webp (On a phone: Comment or message picked in the row of groups, its checks under it.)
You should see: The checks of The comment or message, each with a line on what it reads. Pick one and it joins the condition as a rule, open for its details.
Step 2 of 4: Check the words or the language.
Where: What they wrote: Wrote any of these, or Wrote none of these, with your words (capitals do not matter). Language: Written in, or Not written in, the languages you pick.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-said.en.webp (What they wrote: Wrote any of these, with the word LINK.)
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-said-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)
You should see: Reads as: says the rule in plain words, such as Wrote "LINK".
Step 3 of 4: Check how moderation labelled the comment.
Where: Flagged by moderation: pick the labels to look for (Negative, Profanity, A link, Contact details, Mentions, Impersonating you, Your own words), or none for any label your moderation gave the comment. In the same group, for comments: Commented on an ad, On a specific post or ad, A reply to a comment.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-flagged-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)
You should see: The finished rule folds to its sentence, such as Flagged: A link, Contact details.
Step 4 of 4: Wire the Yes and No ways.
Where: Yes (they match) goes to one step, No (everyone else) to another: drag from each dot on the step, or pick the step under Next steps in the panel. A way with no wire ends the flow there for those people.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-node-condition.en.webp (The two ways out on the step: Yes and No.)
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-node-condition-phone.en.webp (On a phone: Yes and No under Next steps, each with the step it leads to.)
You should see: Both ways lead somewhere.
If something is off
Problem: This start has nothing for this rule to read
Fix: A link or shared-post start carries no words; the comment checks need a comment start.
Problem: Flagged by moderation never matches
Fix: It reads the label your comment moderation gave the comment, so the moderation rules must be on for that page.
