Guide: Check this flow and the time of day
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/flow-conditions/check-this-flow-and-the-time-of-day
Topic: Conditions
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox
Result when done: Branch on a link they clicked or on your opening hours.
Context: Two small groups. In this flow: Clicked a link, true when the person opened a link this flow sent them (every link a flow sends is tracked). When: Time of day, between two times in the page's time zone, so a flow can promise a call back now inside your hours and tomorrow outside them. (Whether the chat window is open lives under Their history with you.)
Before you start
1. Every start and both platforms.
2. Clicked a link reads the links sent in this flow.
3. Time of day uses the page's time zone; a window past midnight wraps.
Steps
Step 1 of 4: Open the checks under In this flow.
Where: Add a Condition (Steps, Decide) or click one on the canvas. In its panel press Add a rule (on a fresh condition, Browse all checks). The picker opens on Most used, with the groups listed beside it: press This flow, and its checks show under the heading In this flow. Search checks finds one by name. Time of day is the one check in the last group, Time (its heading reads When).

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-pick-flow-phone.en.webp (On a phone: This flow picked in the row of groups, its checks under it.)
You should see: The checks of In this flow, each with a line on what it reads. Pick one and it joins the condition as a rule, open for its details.
Step 2 of 4: Check a click.
Where: Clicked a link: Clicked a link in this flow, or its opposite, Hasn't clicked a link yet. Put a Wait before it to give people time to open it.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-time.en.webp (The finished rule: Clicked a link in this flow.)
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-time-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)
You should see: The finished rule reads Clicked a link in this flow, in the panel and on the step.
Step 3 of 4: Check the time of day.
Where: Time of day (group Time): the list chooses Between the two times or Outside them, and under it the two times, the first to the second. They must differ; 22:00 to 06:00 wraps past midnight.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-time.en.webp (Time of day: Between 09:00 and 18:00.)
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-time-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)
You should see: Reads as: says the hours, such as Between 09:00 and 18:00.
Step 4 of 4: Wire the Yes and No ways.
Where: Yes (they match) goes to one step, No (everyone else) to another: drag from each dot on the step, or pick the step under Next steps in the panel. A way with no wire ends the flow there for those people.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-node-condition.en.webp (The two ways out on the step: Yes and No.)
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-node-condition-phone.en.webp (On a phone: Yes and No under Next steps, each with the step it leads to.)
You should see: Both ways lead somewhere.
If something is off
Problem: Pick two different times
Fix: The two times must differ.
Problem: It used the wrong hours
Fix: Time of day reads the page's time zone.
