Common questions

Which plans can limit a teammate to specific pages?

Growth, Pro and Elite. Below Growth every teammate sees all pages; a scope set in the trial is kept and applies again on upgrade.

Can I restrict an administrator to certain pages?

No. Page access applies to managers and moderators; owners and administrators see every page by design. Give the person the Manager role if they should see only some pages.

Will a teammate with all pages see pages I connect later?

Yes. Leaving every page unticked under Page access means access to all pages, now and in future. Someone with specific pages ticked sees a new page only once you add it to their list.

Does page access also limit what a teammate sees in Insights?

Yes. Their inbox, their Insights and their page list all narrow to the pages they were given, and a link to a page they cannot see returns nothing for them.

Guide: Give a teammate specific pages

This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/team/give-a-teammate-specific-pages

Topic: Team and roles

Time: about 2 minutes

Who can do it: Owner or Administrator

Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)

Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/users

Result when done: A freelancer or an agency sees only the pages you hired them for.

Context: Page access decides what a manager or a moderator can see. Leave it empty and they see every page, including ones you add later; tick specific pages and they see only those. Page-level access is included from Growth.

Before you start

1. Page access applies to managers and moderators.

2. Owners and administrators see every page by design.

3. Leaving everything unticked means access to all pages, now and in future.

Steps

Step 1 of 3: Open the person.

Where: Settings, Users, then Edit next to their name.

You should see: Their role, and the list of pages with tick boxes.

Step 2 of 3: Choose the pages.

Where: Page access: leave all unchecked for every page, or tick the ones they should have. The hint under it says the same.

You should see: Their row shows All pages, or the pages you picked.

Step 3 of 3: Check what they will see.

Where: Their inbox, their Insights and their page list all narrow to those pages. A link to a page they cannot see returns nothing for them.

You should see: A workspace that contains only what concerns them.

If something is off

Problem: They see a page I did not give them

Fix: They are an owner or an administrator. Change the role, or accept that the role sees everything.

Problem: They see nothing at all

Fix: No pages are ticked and the role is manager or moderator. Tick at least one, or untick all for full access.

Problem: A new page did not reach them

Fix: They have specific pages. Add the new one to their list.
