Common questions

Can I see how many people clicked a link in a flow?

Yes. Insights shows, for each link, how many people opened it and the total opens, over the range you choose.

Can I compare two openers?

Yes, with an A/B split step: Insights shows how many people took each way, so you can read which one more people went on from.

What ranges are there?

Last 7 days, last 30 days and all time.

Guide: Read the numbers on a flow

This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/flow-builder/read-the-numbers-on-a-flow

Topic: Flow builder

Time: about 2 minutes

Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager

Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)

Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox

Result when done: You know how many people reached each step, which way they went, and who opened each link.

Context: Insights puts the numbers on the canvas itself: how many people started, finished, are waiting, are with your team or failed, and on each step how many reached it, were sent it, tapped or opened it, and stopped there. Each way out of a step shows its share, and each link how many people opened it. Choose the last 7 days, the last 30 days or all time.

Before you start

1. Insights appear once the flow is saved and people go through it.

2. A step added later counts only from the day it was added, and says so.

3. An A/B split shows how many took each way, so you can read which opener did better.

Steps

Step 1 of 3: Open Insights.

Where: Insights is the last button of the group in the bar at the top right of the canvas, after Runs. On a phone, the same button without its label.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights-phone.en.webp (Insights on a phone.)

You should see: A bar above the canvas with what happened to everyone who started: started, finished, waiting, with your team (and failed, when any did). Every step now carries its numbers.

Step 2 of 3: Choose the range.

Where: The three choices in the Insights bar, right of the summary: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, All time.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights.en.webp (The range: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, All time.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights-phone.en.webp (The range on a phone.)

You should see: Every number on the canvas follows the range.

Step 3 of 3: Read a step and its ways.

Where: At the foot of each step's card: reached (or sent), clicked with its share, and stopped here. Each way out of the step, a button or an answer, shows how many took it and their share of those who reached the step; a link shows how many opened it. Click a step and its panel opens on a box headed Insights and the range, with the same numbers larger (reached, sent, tapped or opened, stopped here) and one row per button and link with its count and share.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights.en.webp (One step: 47 reached, 44 clicked, 3 stopped here, and the share of each button.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights-phone.en.webp (The same step on a phone.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights-step.en.webp (The step clicked: its numbers at the top of the panel.)

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-insights-step-phone.en.webp (The step tapped on a phone: its numbers at the top of the sheet.)

You should see: For a step added later: Added on that date, so it counts only from then.

If something is off

Problem: Insights is greyed out

Fix: Insights appear once the flow is saved and people go through it.

Problem: A step shows fewer people than the one before it

Fix: Some stopped there or took another way; the wires out of the step show where they went. A step added later also counts only from the day it was added.

Problem: No one yet in this range

Fix: Widen the range to Last 30 days or All time.
