Common questions
Does Tidy up change what the flow does?
No. It moves positions only. The same flow always tidies to the same picture, and a second press moves nothing.
Is a tidy-up saved as a version?
Yes, when you save. In Versions it reads as moved, not edited.
Can the flow read from top to bottom?
Yes. Layout, then Direction, then Top to bottom. It is your view; Tidy up and Build with AI follow it.

Guide: Tidy up the canvas and choose the arrow style
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/flow-builder/tidy-up-the-canvas-and-choose-the-arrow-style
Topic: Flow builder
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox
Result when done: A readable canvas in one click, wires drawn your way.
Context: Tidy up lines every step up from the trigger, as a timeline reads, in one press. How the flow is drawn (across or top to bottom, angled, curved or straight wires) is your own view: it is saved for you, never into the flow, so a teammate sees the same flow drawn their way.
Before you start
1. Tidy up moves positions only, never what the flow does.
2. The direction and the arrow style are yours, not the flow's.
3. Templates and Build with AI lay their flows out the same tidy way.
Steps
Step 1 of 3: Press Tidy up.
Where: The small toolbar at the bottom left of the canvas: Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit the whole flow, Tidy up, and Layout. ⇧T does the same. Right-click the empty canvas for Tidy up (Line steps up from the trigger) too.

You should see: The steps line up from the trigger in the direction you read the flow. A wire that skips a column gets its own lane, so no card stands in front of it; wires back to an earlier step run around the cards, never under one; steps nothing leads to are gathered below, never deleted.
Step 2 of 3: Fit the whole flow on screen.
Where: Fit the whole flow, the third button of the same toolbar (⇧1), brings every step into view; Zoom in and Zoom out are the two buttons before it. Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag the empty canvas to move around. A flow too long to read whole opens on its start instead: at the left edge across, at the top and centred top to bottom, at the right edge in Arabic.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-phone.en.webp (Fit the whole flow on a phone.)
You should see: The whole flow on screen.
Step 3 of 3: Choose the direction and the arrow style.
Where: Layout, the last button in the toolbar, opens a menu (a sheet on a phone). Direction: Left to right (Right to left when the app is in Arabic) or Top to bottom. Arrow style: Angled, Curved or Straight.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-flow-layout-phone.en.webp (Layout on a phone, as a sheet.)
You should see: The canvas redraws at once, and Tidy up and Build with AI lay steps out in that direction. The flow, its versions and what a teammate sees do not change.
If something is off
Problem: Tidy up moved a step I had placed by hand
Fix: Undo puts it back (⌘Z). Tidy up is a choice you make with the button; nothing tidies on its own.
Problem: My teammate sees the flow drawn differently
Fix: The direction and arrow style are each person's own. Both of you see the same steps and wires.
