Common questions
Do I need to change anything in my account when notifications stop?
No. Every gate is on your device: the site permission, the operating system, and whether the device has opened the app. Nothing needs to change in your CommentWatchDog account.
Does the app tell me which gate is blocking my notifications?
When it can detect it, yes. This device says plainly when notifications are blocked for the site and gives the steps for your browser; the operating system settings are outside the app and need checking yourself.
Where do I allow CommentWatchDog notifications in my operating system?
On a Mac, System Settings then Notifications, for the browser or the installed app; on Windows, notification settings and focus assist; on Android, app notifications; on iPhone, Settings then Notifications for CommentWatchDog.

Guide: Notifications do not arrive
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/notifications/notifications-do-not-arrive
Topic: Notifications and the phone app
Time: about 3 minutes
Who can do it: Anyone on your team
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/notifications?tab=device
Result when done: You can find the one thing that is blocking them, on any platform.
Context: Notifications pass through three gates: the site permission, the operating system, and the device having opened the app. Check them in that order and the cause is usually obvious.
Before you start
1. Every gate is on your device; nothing needs to change in your account.
2. The app tells you which gate is closed when it can detect it.
3. An iPhone needs the app on the Home Screen, not a Safari tab.
Steps
Step 1 of 3: Check the site permission.
Where: This device says plainly when notifications are blocked for the site, and gives the steps for your browser.

Step 2 of 3: Check the operating system.
Where: On a Mac, System Settings then Notifications, for the browser or the installed app; on Windows, notification settings and focus assist; on Android, app notifications; on iPhone, Settings then Notifications for CommentWatchDog.
You should see: The app allowed to show notifications at the system level.
Step 3 of 3: Open the app on that device.
Where: A device that has not opened the app since notifications were turned on may not be registered. Open it once, then send a test.

If something is off
Problem: It worked and then stopped
Fix: A browser update or a cleared site data can revoke the permission. Turn it on again from This device.
Problem: Only some notifications arrive
Fix: Check the four switches for that device; each kind has its own.
Problem: My phone is in a battery saver
Fix: Some phones delay background delivery. Exclude the app from battery optimisation.
