Guide: The Meta app review

Result when done: You know why the app can read and moderate your comments at all.
Context: Meta reviews apps before granting the permissions that read and change Page content. CommentWatchDog goes through that review, which is why the Facebook dialog can offer those permissions to you.

Before you start:
1. App review is Meta process, not ours.
2. The permissions in the dialog are the reviewed ones.
3. Nothing works on a page your login does not manage, whatever the review says.

Steps:
Step 1 of 2: See it in the dialog.
Where: When you press Connect Facebook, Meta shows the permissions the app may ask for. Those are the reviewed ones.

You should see: A list from Meta rather than from us.

Step 2 of 2: Check it from your side.
Where: Facebook: Settings, Business integrations lists the app with what it was granted, and lets you remove it.
You should see: Your own record of what is connected.

If something is off:
Problem: A permission was not offered
Fix: Meta decides what a reviewed app may ask for. Reconnect and allow everything that is offered.
Problem: Is my data shared with Meta
Fix: The app reads and writes on your pages through Meta API. Nothing is sent to third parties beyond what is needed to run the service.

Common questions:
Question: Who reviews the permissions CommentWatchDog asks for?
Answer: Meta. App review is Meta's process: it reviews apps before granting the permissions that read and change Page content, and the Facebook dialog offers only the reviewed ones.
Question: Does app review let CommentWatchDog into pages I do not manage?
Answer: No. Nothing works on a page your Facebook login does not manage, whatever the review says; your login still has to manage the page.
Question: Is the permission list in the Facebook dialog from Meta or from CommentWatchDog?
Answer: From Meta. When you press Connect Facebook, Meta shows the permissions the app may ask for; those are the reviewed ones, a list from Meta rather than from CommentWatchDog.
