Guide: Report a problem
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/security/report-a-problem
Topic: Security, privacy and data
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Anyone on your team
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox
Result when done: A problem reaches a person who can fix it, with what they need to fix it.
Context: Write to us, and include the two or three details that turn a report into a fix: what you expected, what happened, and where.

Before you start:
1. A task ID or a page name is usually enough to find the event.
2. A security issue should be reported privately rather than in public.
3. Exports and screenshots help, but the exact wording of an error helps more.

Steps:
Step 1 of 2: Collect the detail.
Where: For a failed bulk action, Copy task ID in the task. For a comment, the page and roughly when. For an error, its exact words.

Step 2 of 2: Write to us.
Where: support@commentwatchdog.com, with what you expected, what happened, and the detail you collected.
You should see: A reply from a person, not a ticket robot.

If something is off:
Problem: It is urgent
Fix: Say so in the subject, with the page name.
Problem: It is a security issue
Fix: Write privately to the same address; do not post details publicly.
Problem: I cannot sign in to collect anything
Fix: Write anyway with the email address you sign in with.

Common questions:
Question: What is the support email for CommentWatchDog?
Answer: support@commentwatchdog.com. Write with what you expected, what happened, and where, and a person replies rather than a ticket robot.
Question: What should I include when a bulk action fails?
Answer: The task ID. Open the task under Tasks and press Copy task ID; a task ID or a page name is usually enough for support to find the event.
Question: Do I need to send a screenshot with my report?
Answer: Not necessarily. Exports and screenshots help, but the exact wording of an error helps more; for a comment, the page and roughly when it happened is enough.
Question: Can anyone on my team report a problem?
Answer: Yes. Reporting a problem is open to anyone on your team; it is an email, so no owner or administrator role is needed.
