Guide: Delete your data
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/security/delete-your-data
Topic: Security, privacy and data
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/account
Result when done: You can remove everything, and know what that does and does not touch.
Context: Deleting the account removes the workspace and its data, cancels the subscription and disconnects the pages. Your comments and posts on Facebook and Instagram belong to those platforms and are unaffected.

Before you start:
1. Only the owner can delete the account.
2. It cannot be undone and support cannot restore it.
3. Your content on Facebook and Instagram is not touched.

Steps:
Step 1 of 3: Disconnect if that is all you want.
Where: Settings, Pages, Disconnect Facebook. It ends the app access to your pages while keeping your workspace.

You should see: No further access to your pages, with your settings kept.

Step 2 of 3: Delete the account to remove everything.
Where: Settings, Account, Delete account. The dialog names the pages that will be disconnected and asks you to confirm.

You should see: A clear list of what goes, and a confirmation step.

Step 3 of 3: Remove the app on Facebook too.
Where: Facebook: Settings, Business integrations, then remove CommentWatchDog. This is the platform side of the same decision.
You should see: Nothing left connected on either side.

If something is off:
Problem: I want my data exported first
Fix: Insights exports to CSV. Do that before deleting.
Problem: Can support delete it for me
Fix: The owner does it from the Account tab; it is deliberately not a support action.
Problem: What about backups
Fix: Backups age out on their own schedule; nothing is restored to a deleted workspace.

Common questions:
Question: Does deleting my account remove my comments from Facebook and Instagram?
Answer: No. Your comments and posts on Facebook and Instagram belong to those platforms and are untouched. Deleting removes the CommentWatchDog workspace and its data, cancels the subscription and disconnects the pages.
Question: Can an administrator delete the account?
Answer: No. Only the owner can delete the account, from Settings, Account, Delete account, and it cannot be undone.
Question: Is there a lighter option than deleting everything?
Answer: Yes. Disconnect Facebook, on the Pages tab, ends the app access to your pages while keeping your workspace and your settings. Delete account is for removing everything.
Question: Do I also need to remove the app on Facebook?
Answer: It is the platform side of the same decision. In Facebook, Settings, then Business integrations, remove CommentWatchDog so nothing is left connected on either side.
