Result when done: A Facebook post with hundreds or thousands of comments is clear in one job, through Meta's official API.
Context: Facebook deletes comments one at a time, and Meta Business Suite has no select-all. Post cleanup takes the link to a Facebook Page post, or to the post an ad runs, fetches every comment and reply on it, and deletes or hides what you select in one background job at the pace Meta allows. It works through Meta's official API: you sign in with Facebook, no password is shared, and nothing is installed in your browser. In the job log of every account, read 2026-09-26: 56 Facebook delete jobs, 2,098 comments removed, the largest 270 comments from one post in under nine minutes. Bulk hide and delete are included from Growth.

Before you start:
1. The post must belong to a Facebook Page your Facebook login manages. Personal profile posts and group posts are outside Meta's API.
2. There is no cap per batch: Select all takes every comment in the current filter, and the job runs in the background until it is done.
3. Deleting is permanent and takes the replies under a comment with it. Hiding is reversible.

Steps:
Step 1 of 4: Paste the post or ad link into Post cleanup.
Where: Tools in the left sidebar, then Post cleanup. The box takes the link to a Facebook Page post, or to the post an ad runs. On a phone, the Tools tab in the bottom bar.

You should see: Every comment and reply on the post, with the counts above the list. A post with thousands of comments takes about a minute.

Step 2 of 4: Check the post against your rules, then filter to Flagged.
Where: Check comments, above the list, marks what your rules would catch, with the rule on each comment. Flagged in the filter row shows only those. To clear the whole post, stay on All.

You should see: The spam and the damaging comments in a short list, each with its reason.

Step 3 of 4: Select all, then Delete or Hide, and confirm.
Where: Select all, above the list, takes every comment in the current filter, however many. Then Delete or Hide; the confirmation shows the count and says that a big job runs at Meta's pace.

You should see: The job starts and the page shows its progress.

Step 4 of 4: Let it run in the background.
Where: A card says the job runs in the background at the pace Meta allows, with Pause, Resume and Stop. You can close the page; CommentWatchDog emails you when it finishes.

You should see: Done and failed counts, and a note when Meta slows it down. The largest job so far, 270 comments, took under nine minutes.

If something is off:
Problem: The link is refused
Fix: It must be the link to the post itself, from Copy link under the post, not the address of a Business Suite inbox item and not a shortened link.
Problem: The post is on my personal profile
Fix: Meta's API covers Pages and Instagram professional accounts, not personal profiles or groups. On a profile, Facebook deletes comments one at a time, and deleting the post removes them all.
Problem: It paused by itself
Fix: Meta limits how fast actions may run. It continues on its own, and the card says roughly when.
Problem: Some comments failed
Fix: Open the task to see what Meta said for each one, usually a comment its author had already removed.

Common questions:
Question: Is there a limit to how many comments I can delete at once?
Answer: No cap per batch. Select all takes every comment in the current filter and the job works through them in the background at the pace Meta allows. The largest single job so far removed 270 comments from one Facebook post in under nine minutes (job log, read 2026-09-26).
Question: Does CommentWatchDog need my Facebook password or a browser extension?
Answer: No. You sign in with Facebook and approve access to the Pages you choose; the connection uses tokens Meta issues through its official API, and nothing is installed in your browser. Access can be removed in Facebook, Settings, then Business integrations, at any time.
Question: Can it delete comments on a personal profile post?
Answer: No. Meta's API covers Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts. On a personal profile, comments are deleted one at a time in Facebook, and deleting the post removes all of them.
Question: How long do a thousand comments take?
Answer: It depends on the pace Meta allows that day. In the job log read 2026-09-26, 56 Facebook delete jobs removed 2,098 comments, and the largest, 270 comments, finished in 520 seconds; at that pace a thousand take about half an hour, in the background, with the page closed.
Question: Which plans include bulk delete?
Answer: Growth, Pro and Elite. On Starter a cleanup acts on one comment at a time, and selecting several opens a short explanation.
