Result when done: All the comments on one Instagram post or reel go in one job, with no 25-at-a-time cap and no password.
Context: Instagram's own app deletes comments one at a time, or 25 at a time through Select multiple comments (as of 2026-09-26). Post cleanup takes the link to an Instagram post or reel on a professional account you manage, fetches every comment and reply, and deletes or hides what you select in one background job. It works through Meta's official API: you sign in with Facebook and approve the Instagram account, no Instagram password is shared, and nothing is installed in your browser. In the job log of every account, read 2026-09-26: 10 Instagram delete jobs, 900 comments removed, the largest 312 comments from one post in 23 minutes with zero failures. Bulk hide and delete are included from Growth.

Before you start:
1. The account must be an Instagram professional account, business or creator, linked to a Facebook Page your login manages.
2. There is no cap per batch: Select all takes every comment in the current filter, and the job runs in the background until it is done.
3. Deleting is permanent. Hiding is reversible, and on Instagram the author is not told.

Steps:
Step 1 of 4: Copy the link of the post or reel.
Where: In the Instagram app, open the post or the reel, then the three dots, then Copy link. On a computer, open it on instagram.com and copy the address.
You should see: A link ending in a short code, which the box accepts.

Step 2 of 4: Paste it into Post cleanup and load it.
Where: Tools in the left sidebar, then Post cleanup. The same box takes a post and a reel. On a phone, the Tools tab in the bottom bar.

You should see: Every comment and reply on the post or reel, with the counts above the list.

Step 3 of 4: Filter, then Select all.
Where: Check comments marks what your rules would catch, and Flagged in the filter row shows only those. To clear the whole post, stay on All. Select all, above the list, takes every comment in the current filter, however many.

You should see: A count of selected comments, and the two actions.

Step 4 of 4: Choose Delete or Hide and confirm.
Where: Delete or Hide above the list, then the confirmation, which shows the count and says that a big job runs at Meta's pace. You can close the page; CommentWatchDog emails you when it finishes.

You should see: The job starts and runs in the background, with done and failed counts. The largest Instagram job so far, 312 comments, took 23 minutes with zero failures.

If something is off:
Problem: The account is not offered when connecting
Fix: Only professional accounts linked to a Facebook Page your login manages appear. The guide on Instagram accounts and the linked Page has the fix.
Problem: The link is refused
Fix: It must be the link to the post or reel itself, ending in its short code, not a story, a profile or a shortened link.
Problem: It paused by itself
Fix: Meta limits how fast actions may run. It continues on its own, and the card says roughly when.
Problem: I deleted the wrong ones
Fix: Deleted comments cannot be recovered. Hide is the reversible action, and on Instagram the author is not told.

Common questions:
Question: Is there a limit to how many Instagram comments I can delete at once?
Answer: No cap per batch here. Instagram's own app offers Select multiple comments, up to 25 at a time (as of 2026-09-26); Select all in Post cleanup takes every comment in the current filter and the job works through them in the background. The largest single job so far removed 312 comments from one Instagram post in 23 minutes with zero failures (job log, read 2026-09-26).
Question: Does it need my Instagram password?
Answer: No. You sign in with Facebook and approve the Instagram account through Meta's official API; nothing is installed in your browser, and access can be removed in Facebook, Settings, then Business integrations, at any time.
Question: Does it work on a reel, and on comments under an Instagram ad?
Answer: Yes to both. A post and a reel use the same box, and an ad's comments live on the post it promotes, so paste that post's link. The one exception is a partnership ad, where Instagram says advertisers cannot delete comments.
Question: What does the commenter see when I hide instead of deleting?
Answer: On Instagram a hidden comment is visible only to you and the person who wrote it, and they are not told it was hidden. Hiding is reversible; deleting is not.
Question: Which plans include bulk delete?
Answer: Growth, Pro and Elite. On Starter a cleanup acts on one comment at a time, and selecting several opens a short explanation.
