Guide: Pause a page
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/pages/pause-a-page
Topic: Pages and connections
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner or Administrator
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/pages
Result when done: A page stops being watched without losing anything you set up.
Context: Pausing is the reversible way to stop. Nothing new is collected and no rules run, and everything you configured stays exactly where it is, ready for the day you switch it back on.

Before you start:
1. A paused page collects nothing and runs no rules.
2. Its rules, agents, automations and history are kept.
3. Comments that already arrived stay in your inbox.

Steps:
Step 1 of 3: Find the page switch.
Where: On the Pages tab, each connected page has a switch at the start of its row.

You should see: The switch, with Receiving comments beside a page that is on.

Step 2 of 3: Switch it off.
Where: The row then says Paused, with a note that nothing new is collected and no rules run until you switch it back on.

You should see: The page reads Paused and stops appearing in new comment counts.

Step 3 of 3: Switch it back on when you want it.
Where: The same switch. Comments arrive again from that moment; the gap is not backfilled.
Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/pages.en.webp (On again.)

You should see: Receiving comments again, with everything as you left it.

If something is off:
Problem: Did I lose the comments from the pause
Fix: They were never collected. A cleanup on the post can fetch them from the platform afterwards.
Problem: Pausing did not stop my plan usage
Fix: Usage stops for that page. Other pages keep counting.
Problem: I want to stop permanently
Fix: Remove the page instead, which also clears it from the sidebar.

Common questions:
Question: What happens to my rules and AI agents when I pause a page?
Answer: They are kept exactly as they are. A paused page collects nothing new and runs no rules, but its rules, agents, automations and history stay in place, ready for the day you switch it back on.
Question: Do comments that already arrived disappear when I pause a page?
Answer: No. Comments that already arrived stay in your inbox; pausing only stops new ones from being collected, and the row reads Paused until you switch it back on.
Question: Can I pause a page from my phone?
Answer: Yes. The switch at the start of each connected page row on the Pages tab works the same on a phone. Off reads Paused; on reads Receiving comments.
