Guide: Check their history with you
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/flow-conditions/check-their-history-with-you
Topic: Conditions
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner, Administrator or Manager
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/inbox
Result when done: Treat first-timers and regulars differently.
Context: The history checks look at what this person has done with your page before this run: whether they have been in touch, for how many days you have known them, how many comments they left, and whether the chat window is open now. A first-timer gets the welcome; a regular gets straight to the point.

Before you start:
1. Instagram and Facebook both.
2. Every start can read them.
3. The chat window is open for 24 hours after their last message, tap or link open.

Steps:
Step 1 of 3: Open the checks under Their history with you.
Where: Add a Condition (Steps, Decide) or click one on the canvas. In its panel press Add a rule (on a fresh condition, Browse all checks). The picker opens on Most used, with the groups listed beside it: press History with you, and its checks show under the heading Their history with you. Search checks finds one by name.

You should see: The checks of Their history with you, each with a line on what it reads. Pick one and it joins the condition as a rule, open for its details.

Step 2 of 3: Pick the check and set it.
Where: Been in touch before (has commented or written to this page before this run; its opposite reads First time in touch); Days since first seen (at least, or under, a number of days; 30 to start); Earlier comments (at least, or fewer than, a number of earlier comments on this page; 3 to start); Chat window open (their last message, tap or link open was within 24 hours).

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-cond-history-phone.en.webp (The same on a phone.)
You should see: Reads as: says the rule in plain words, such as Known for 30+ days or Has been in touch before.

Step 3 of 3: Wire the Yes and No ways.
Where: Yes (they match) goes to one step, No (everyone else) to another: drag from each dot on the step, or pick the step under Next steps in the panel. A way with no wire ends the flow there for those people.

Screenshot: https://commentwatchdog.com/media/shots/dm-node-condition-phone.en.webp (On a phone: Yes and No under Next steps, each with the step it leads to.)
You should see: Both ways lead somewhere.

If something is off:
Problem: A regular customer took the first-timer way
Fix: Been in touch before counts comments and messages to this page only, before this run.
Problem: Chat window closed
Fix: The window closes 24 hours after their last message. A flow can send nothing until they write again.

Common questions:
Question: Does a comment count as being in touch?
Answer: Yes. Been in touch before is true when the person commented on or wrote to this page before this run.
Question: What opens the chat window?
Answer: Their message, a tap on a button or quick reply, or opening your chat link. It stays open for 24 hours after the last one.
