Guide: Check your usage
This page: https://commentwatchdog.com/help/account/check-your-usage
Topic: Account, plans and credits
Time: about 2 minutes
Who can do it: Owner or Administrator
Author: https://anantgupta.xyz (Anant Gupta, founder of CommentWatchDog)
Start in the app: https://app.commentwatchdog.com/en/settings/account
Result when done: You know how much of the month is used and where it went.
Context: The meter on the Account tab is the number that matters. Insights explains it: which pages, which days, and how much came from one-time cleanups rather than daily moderation.

Before you start:
1. The meter resets at the start of each billing period.
2. Insights splits live moderation from post cleanup.
3. Usage alerts are an email switch you can turn on.

Steps:
Step 1 of 3: Read the meter.
Where: Settings, Account. It reads used against the allowance and shows when the period renews.

You should see: One number for the whole workspace, and the renewal date.

Step 2 of 3: Find out where it went.
Where: Insights, with the range set to this period. Total comments is the volume; the Source filter separates live moderation from cleanup sweeps.

You should see: Which days and which source consumed the allowance.

Step 3 of 3: Turn on the warning.
Where: Settings, Notifications, Usage alerts. It emails you as you approach the limit.

You should see: A heads-up before anything pauses.

If something is off:
Problem: The meter looks wrong
Fix: It counts comments processed in this billing period, not comments in your inbox.
Problem: One page uses everything
Fix: Filter Insights to that page. A busy ad is the usual cause.
Problem: I want to slow it down
Fix: Pause a page you are not watching closely, or narrow moderation scope to ads only.

Common questions:
Question: When does the usage meter reset?
Answer: At the start of each billing period. The meter on Settings, Account reads used against the allowance and shows when the period renews.
Question: Will CommentWatchDog warn me before I run out of comments?
Answer: Yes, when Usage alerts is on: Settings, Notifications, Usage alerts emails you as you approach the limit. At 90 percent you get a heads-up; at 100 percent processing pauses until you upgrade or the period rolls.
Question: Can I see how much of my usage came from post cleanups?
Answer: Yes. Open Insights with the range set to this period: Total comments is the volume, and the Source filter separates live moderation from cleanup sweeps, so you see which days and which source used the allowance.
Question: Do I have to be the owner to check usage?
Answer: No. An owner or an administrator can open Settings, Account, where the meter shows one number for the whole workspace and the renewal date.
